My Rio 180 Betta Tank Journal... Pic Heavy...

ah sorry, i couldnt bunch them and left them floating. was trying to decide what to do lol, but i think i'll leave them floating as bettas like cover, pics uploading :good:

ok. great.

Did they come with lead weights, if so its advisable not to use these as they can be toxic to fish. To bunch them just push them deep into the sand, and they should hold.

As this already has mature media in, i dont need to cycle (yey) and the ex700 will be put onto the Vision for extra filtration :good:

no weights. which is why i thought leave them loose, as i have ALOT of silk plants coming soon too, so thought i would leave the live floating as it looks ok, and plant the silks :good:

Oh great! :) i was just going to ask what filter you were going to use! :)
Looks good and as per usual the cat had to give his seal of approval
I would advice planting some of the plants, for hideouts, they will love it, i can garantee!! :)

i will ensure they have hidey holes, am hoping the silks will be enough. it currently has the ex700 running, and i put the spray bar vertically and spraying round the back so as not to catch their fins

will do the same with the ex1200

Looks really fab :good:
Regarding the ex1200, are you going to feed it ammonia to keep it cycled? Hope you've hooked it up by now or there won't be much bacteria left!

Thats realy coming on quite nicely, but I think it would look nice if you planted those plants or weighted them down. you can buy the strips of plant wieghts.

All you need now is a coliseum in the centre and some other roman artifacts, like columns.

A very nice job indeed, pat your hubby on the back, job well done.

Where did you get your background from?
It looks great!!

thanks! i got it from my lfs, but you can get it on ebay, it has a 3d effect to it

Looks really fab

yes, i have added some cories and "extra" food too so it'll keep going. all up and running

Updates,

EX1200 is now up and running, but as i dont have the pump creating waves yet (spray bar is pointing along the back to stop betta being taken with flow) so i have taken the spray bar off temporarily to create bubbles and movement in the water.

Cories added for ammonia to keep growing. added extra food too. Would it be worth me shoving some neons or something in there as 3 cories wont actually cause much ammonia to feed the bacteria?

PICS
