well, turns out the dividers are tall enough, cant go any higher due to the lights

update, its now 90% complete!

all four dividers in;

they look a little wonky, but once sand is in theyre all ok

with sand being added;

my helper

backing, pipes, heater added and being filled;

had to stop halfway as one of the top dividers came off so we had to re-stick it

plans for tomorrow, fill the tank when the divider is sealed, turn on filter and heater.

I have got some plants on their way to me, but still have plans to add more.

I also need to start stripping the coconuts

That looks fab already!! The black of the dividers looks good - mine are a garish red LOL. What are the pipey things - a bubble curtain?

i just realized amy likes to watch the fish one time she ACTULY jumped at the fish tank when she say the plec move... and when ever i feed them she'll sit and glare..

cazzie do you mean the thing in the middle section? Its just a bamboo effect wall - dunno if i'm keeping it yet though

should be up and running tonight but cant fill it til after 10pm

it SHOULD have been after ten as it would have been 24 hours since the silicone had been re-done and set, but did it earlier

I did a journal as i know others like to divide but its obviously a bigger tank, and others can then learn by my mistakes

ANYWAYS, updates

its up and running

it has coconut caves (homemade), full water, filter, heater and everything, just need plants (being posted tomorrow) and fish

doing the coconuts was rather funny we started with two whole nuts, pierced them to drain, kev chopped them in half with a junior hacksaw, and then we had to get the flesh out

first we had me and my sister trying with a spoon, didnt work. then we tried a pearing knife, didnt work. so my brothert in law got a flat head screw driver and hacked it out. much to say it worked

then kev shaved them with the zester and wahey! coconuts are done! then, kev had to cut the front out (not easy with a junior hacksaw) and filed down as much as possible, and finally, coconut caves
