hey iv'e got 3 plecs in my 32x17x14 tank 2 commons and an albino.
They seem ok however i here that they grow extremely big however i intend to flog them off at this point.
Any suggestions?

The common plec can grow to be two feet long.. so for three we're talking at least a 5foot tank; a 2ft 8 tank might be OK for a few months but you'll run into problem pretty quickly.

That tank is not big enough to house 1 pleco let alone 3.

I suggest you either get a tank that can properly house the fish or you give them up to a trusted LFS.

I have seen common plecos larger then a 3foot, 33 gallon tank. So please reconsider the future these fish have and find proper homes for them. Next time, do plently of research.

your tank is way too small for them if your not intending to get a bigger tank for them then it might be a good idea to start looking at rehoming them now before it is to late

what is the exact definition of "flogged off" I've never heard this turn of phrase before

Actually, sorry if I offend anyone, but in my town it's a slang for pleasing oneself... I'm assuming he means giving them away, however. Dictionary.com's second definition of "to flog" is "To publicize aggressively"... so maybe he intends to try really really hard to find new owners for them when they get huge.

Flogging used to be a punishment in the old days, ie whipped. Nowadays it is a slang term for selling something. You sometimes see large Common Plecos in fish shops going for about £30-35 but that's what they sell them for not what you would get. My Common is 11" now and he is going into a 300litre (about 65 UKgals) in a few days. It will not be big enough for the rest of his life (20-25 years). I might consider making an indoor pond when it is necessary. :)

Lol!, sorry guys forgot i was the only english one here!
In slang in England flooging off means your going to sell, I think i'll keep my Pleco's for a little while longer- they only cost me £2.50 each so i could make a big profit on them.

I was hoping it was something like that, I was a little afraid it meant kill. but I figured you guys would have been a bit more up in arms about that. Thanks for the clarification. BTW do you really think you'll make a profit considering the time spent setting up the tank doing water changes daily or bi daily feedings monitoring for diseases treating diseases, I mean really (approx.) 10 bucks for hours and hours and days and days of work does not sound like a profit to me, unless you consider enjoying the fishes company payment for that work (Which I would and do even though I'm not planning on selling mine).

As other have pointed out, your tank is not big enough for any of your plecs, albino plecs tend to be sailfin plecs by the way as well unfortunatly.
The max size of common and sailfin plecs varys a huge amount- common plecs usually get to 10inchs-16inchs long while sailfins get to 16-22inches long, but these 2 closely related fish can often hybridise with each other making it even more difficult to tell how big they get. The basic way to tell how large one will grow is to count the number of veins it has in its sailfin- if it has many its likely to grow large, while if it has few it'll grow towards the smaller size scale range(8 being very few veins, while 14 being alot etc).
The other issue in your tank apart from the overstocking factor is that the common and albino plecs will harrass each other more and more as they grow, when it comes down to it there are no large growing plecs that won't harrass each other(although common/sailfin plecs are some of the most peaceful large growing plecs you can get, it just means they won't physically harm each other but instead just bully and stress each other out alot given time, unless you have a huuge and very carefully decorated tank).
I have 2 common and 1 sailfin plecs myself, as well as a para and chocolate plec, they are all currently in a UK 125gal tank. After christmas i will be getting 2 more identical tanks to fully separate the 3 large plecs, even though my tank is large and my plecs aern't all full grown, they still get grumpy at meal times and i want to keep these plecs for the rest of their lives, so i am giving them the best i can and full filling their needs as well. Tank dimensions are more important than gallons when it comes to plecs, alot of length and width rather than height in a tank is what is most important, filtration is also very important  .
If you want to keep at least one of your common plecs, i would get it at least a 4ft long, 2ft wide and 2ft high tank ASAP, if you want to keep all of them i would get them each their own tanks of this size of larger  .

No, they're only small fella's. Dosen't really bother me, they seem really happy and at their current size to be quite frank they have plenty of room!.
Just got myself a Sunshine Pleco L-14(Goldy Pleco).
Have a look at the pic's i put on

You won't make any profit on a large common plec. Not when you factor in the amount spent on it. A lot of shops won't even pay for one as there are far too many people with commons in their tanks that are far too small.

It's ok i'll just give them away but i know for sure ill make on my sunshine pleco- i managed to get him for £40 and he is 5-6" , I have been looking on google they sell for £125 at 8-10 inches :D
