My Own Private Fish World

I wish that i had the room for those tanks.

I would also like to know what are these plans you mentioned for the pangasius that you "know" will quickly outgrow your tank?

Also what kind of food do you serve in this restaurant. As well as a fish freak im a food freak :D

Well, since "inappropriate" comments got cut... I don't see you offering a solution for when those pangasius outgrow that 140 gallon tank... Mind offering an explanation of your future plans for them?

I didnt think mine was particualrly inappropriate, well seems a lot of my posts vanish these days -_-

Okay, what will you be doing with the Pangasius once they begin to outgrow their tank? Welcome to the forums!

ok by the summer end i should have my 6000-7500 g indoor greenspace done on the building we are building beside our house

i also have a 365g tank that we are making out of a display case which will be ready in about a month

the pang were a rehome from a dude whom told me he had 3 6 inch catfish in his 55g that i was buying and asked if i had room to rehome them and when i got there shoot i find these monsters in a bucket so i got the biggest tanks i could find as fast as i could

do i see a pacu??? 0_0. ohh well you can cook it. its very pretty and you can tell by its colors its in a good tank. what kind of filtration.

man for some reason i got no notification of any replies to this thread

there are actually two pacu in that tank one the bigger is girl rhonda she came outta 55g and ron the black one came outta 33g

i am running a fluval 405 and a aqua clear hob 110 i do a weekly wc of 50% with a bi weekly wc once per month i use seachem prime as a water treatment

im gonna have my 360g ready to roll in about 1 month and the pacu will then go in there 72 inch x36 inch x32 inch

Welcome to the forum - and oh my goodness - what a lot of tanks!!

I wonder, is this going to be a permanent part of the building? Reason I ask is it is fantasic to see all those tanks, but it could be - as we say in the U.K. "Tarted up" a bit.

Have the tanks been donated over time, or bought second hand? Coz they are such expensive things to buy. Its just a shame that they are all different.

I wonder it the randomness of the looks of the tanks might prevent people coming to eat there. You could draw in huge crowds if you made it all a bit more business like. Build a strong (and I mean strong) platform that stretches the length of where the tanks currently are, and place the tanks all on the platform. Then box in the bottom with cupboards for access and storage. It would hide all of the things like filters and pipes that can look a bit out of place in a restaurent.

It would look SSOOOO amazing if the tank cabinets were not there. They are a bit of a distraction.

sorry if it sounds like I dont like what you have. I DO!! Just could be even better.

the tanks will be a permanent fixture but this is just the start

truth be said i came here jan 08 on a handshake with my EXbusiness partner who is EX for a reason

what we will be doing here is replacing all the tanks with minimum 100g and they will be all in line thus far i went on a massive tank buying spree getting them from various sources and the scattered look has to do with the mudslinging match with the outgoing person i will keep this updated as i make it look smarter

the spring time has come so in come the plants

it was kinda hard focusing on the whole aquaria thing when i had to devote my time an expertise to exercising "EXTREME PREJUDICE" on the outgoing person. I guess he has thought better of trying to micky fin a ex mp

and i just found the notify button for the thread sweeeeeeeeeet

If I were you I would take out all the tanks and get a HUGE custom made tank that runs the length of a wall or two, it would look amazing!

Just wait!

I locked this place up for the next 25 years , i dont pay water nor do i pay power here(so we will definitely be going large).

My mission is this, the province i work in has no decent fish supply so im fixing that as well as putting together a full on free standing seafood focused restaurant in addition to what im doing here. It will definitely be a sight to be seen.

Part of what im also doing is teaching people proper fish keeping skills and assisting others in getting into the hobby

I'll look up some of my pics of the equipment I have lined up for my fish room and post the stuff.

I really gotta remember to use punctuation! LOLOLOL I have gotten in a bad habit of just blowing along on the keyboard and throwing that stuff to the winds, sorry if it seems disjointed.

I been a chef for about 30 years, lost 270k on my first restaurant which was called The Myrtle & Oak Cafe where the entrie menu focal pointed around fresh never frozen seafood & top notch neo unorthodox cuisine. I have always sort of blazed my own trail when it comes to food, I will start a food thread here if thats ok, to show some of the more recent events.

This location is the cat's meow for me located in a university campus where the competition is corporate cookie cutter food and one other private vendor doing mom an pop food. We do our own soups, somedays we do 90 ltrs of soup, wraps, salads and whatever specials come to me but only so much pop you can put into food when the price point is 3-5 dollars.

This being said it is the perfect place for me to accomplish 2 things. First be clear to make a goodly amount of money so that in 3 years when i do the seafood place it will be fully paid for with this location as a very light duty never ending stockpile. Secondly this is a perfect place for me to base a showroom for my fish company with very little to any overhead and it makes for a killer refuge of tranquility away from the hectic pace the university puts on people.

Hi chefjamesscott :)

Welcome to the forum! :hi:

Your restaurant looks like a wonderful place to eat. I love fish and soup. The mix of different size tanks, furniture and art looks great. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I've cut some inappropriate posts out of your thread and hope this makes your introduction to the forum go more smoothly. We are usually friendly folks around here. :D

many thanks

I actually dropped from one other fish site recently due to people taking potshots just was not worth my time anymore.

My wife an I have 7 kids and are about to make an insane kid friendly addition to our home since we own a vacant lot beside our house, I will make sure to post a build thread about it.

trying to micky fin a ex mp

? What do mean by this?

I edited this to keep it nice

mp=Military Police which means my training has created in me a sense of eyes wide open , whereas my Ex business partner thought taking advantage of another was how business is done. 3 styles-freelance/street & krav maga

Suffice it to say in short form he is gone and I am not ;)
