I have already quarantined him for 10 days and treated him with aquarium salt. He was doing ok but the skin again got peeled off. Please advise some good medication as I don't think there is a problem with water or tank space. I test the water quality on a regular basis. I have another parrot who is in the same tank and pretty active.

it has a flesh eating bacterial infection and needs treating with anti-biotics.

Hi, thanks for your help. We are in lockdown and I can't get any medicines from outside but I do have white spot treatment, pimafix, melafix and paracidol and aquarium salt. Please suggest if I can use any of the above medicines to cure him. Can I use any diy topical treatment?

Salt might help but I doubt it at this stage. You will need to add 2 heaped tablespoons of salt for every 20 litres of water.

You could possibly try putting iodine on the wound but I don't know if it will help. You have to catch the fish and lift it out of the water, put a few drops of iodine on the wound and wait 30 seconds before putting the fish back in the tank. You would have to do this several times each day but I don't know if it will help.

Ok thanks. Also, should I take him out from the tank and keep in quarantine tank again?

Please tell which antibiotics shoul i use. I will try to get it from one of the known shops, if possible.

I don't know what anti-biotics are available so can't comment on that.

You can move the fish or leave it where it is. Try to do a big (75-90%) water change and gravel clean on its tank every day until the wound has healed (assuming it heals). Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Ok and should I raise the temperature to 30. It's currently 28.
