My Little Man Is Growing Up!

Just want to share my great sunday with every one.

Not only has the F1 got another Brit as champ but my little man is growing up!!!

Yesterday i went out and got Spiderman some tankmates/food as he was looking a little bored. i think he grew tired of the mirror time he gets every day. so i got him 2 shrimps for him. i thought the shrimps would be ok as they were quite big. but spider man found which one was weaker and chased him for a bit then left him then next thing i know he started on his first bubble nest. I'm so proud of him. i think this i due to the fact he was happier than before.

his colours are bright then i have ever seen then before.

who would have thought the addition of 2 shrimps can make such a difference!!!

Aww thats brilliant! I may buy alphie my boy some shrimps, he always looks bored lol! I'm sure he'd enjoy something to chase! What shrimp did you buy?

I'm thinking of either some shrimp or an ADF to go with Tetris Not sure where I'll get them from yet though!

no idea what sort of shrimps they are. they are all see through and about half an inch long. got them from pets at home for £1.95. think the price was a little steep by spiderman is worth it.

its so strange about half an hour after putting them in his tank he became alot more active and really was darting around the tank. he had just eaten one of the shrimps but what can you do. i thought they were big enough to not be eaten.

If they stay see through they are probably ghost shrimp. If they develop a pale brown line down the back they may be Amanos shrimp. Cherry shrimp are a nice bright red addition to tanks too, though if they breed the betta may munch the babies.

the one that is left has some light brown bits down its back but the one spiderman has just munched his way through was totally clear.


Its been a bit of a crazy weekend. spiderman growing up and i have around 70 fertiled cory eggs in the other tank. Kept me busy!

this is the first bubble nest i have seen in one of my tanks. its really quite impressive.

i think hes trying to guilt to me into buying a new tank with some girls in there.

At the pets at home near me they sell shrimp for around £4 Each! I intend to get 2 tomorrow for alphies tank, or for the girls tank! Depends what i can afford lol. hopefully my bettas should perk up with bettas! The pets at homei m going is a new one thats just opened this saturday so hopefully there stocked up on fish But will my fish snack on them or just play with them lol!
How does spiderman behave with them? What are the shrimp like, behaviour wise?

the shrimps are not the cutest things i've had in a tank but they are quite interesting to watch. they sift through the sand like shrimps possessed. Spiderman didn't lookk to sure at first. he has been on his own since i had him due to the community tank haveing 2 quite large angels in there (he wouldn't have lasted 2 mins) my biyfriend and i thought he looked a bit loanly so went to pets at home as its closer than any of the other fish stores to see if they had any in and they had so we got them. i might nip down to ripples and get some different ones as their stock is so vast its crazy.

i don't think he sees them as friends seen as one is now in his tummy but the change in him is amazing.

do you live in cheshire? If so go down to Bridgemere and go ripples they normally have 3 or 4 types of shrimp in most weeks ranging from £1.50 to £5.
