yeah shame. people who die fish are horrific  . very pink. someone likes her pink very much (cuddles pillow!!)

Aww is it dyed :(
I was hoping it wasn't

I saw it in the shop and fell in love because it's pink haha :)
And so I reserved it and then got all my tank set up and things and then I researched parrots (I know I did it all the wrong way round, haha)
And then I found out a lot are dyed.

Awww I feel really bad now, it's well tight :( :(

Some of them on google were tattooed!! That's just horrid!!!!!

xx

Poor thing was dyed.

What size tank are you keeping it in?
35L..
Is that big enough?
Petshop man that should be fine for just one.

Aww!!

And thanks :D

The tank even has a pink tinge to it lol pink rocks and plants...pink lights? lol :shifty:
Hahahaha :D :D
Everything in my bedroom is pink!
If it's not pink I'm not having it.. Hahahahaha!!
Noo it's not got pink lights :D

xx

Unfortunately, 35l won't be big enough for long. Don't feel bad, it seems only logical that pet stores would give good advice, but fact it, they often don't, and it's something that most people on this forum have been bitten by. They might be ill informed or out of date, they might be a part time kid in high school student whose only real knowledge comes from a 2 hour training seminar, or they might just be after a sale, facts be damned. It's the customer and the fish that suffer for it, but you're in a good place in that respect.

Blood parrots can reach up to 10 inches (at this size, the 1" per gallon rule goes out the window). I don't know much about them in particular, posting in the hybrid fish section would be a good idea, but a tank 2-3 times that size would probably be minimal for one.

On the topic, how did you handle tank setup/cycling? That's another subject fish stores nab people on a lot - reviewing the threads on cycling in the new to the hobby section would be a good idea (Easy way: Find a post by Miss Wiggle and check out the links in her sig - 90% of what you need to know about fish is in those links)
