My First Planted

Looks really nice :D . Looking forward to see more pictures when the riccia "lawn" establishes. Where did you get the riccia meshes from? Also, I'd like to know where you got your Cabomba from too :D

The meshes I purchased them on ebay as usual, ebay is now my local shop for everything LOL link below, I made an offer of $4 and they accepted it.

The Cabomba got it at my local fish store, it grows so fast that soon I will have to give it away ;)

Added a couple of plants, rotalla to the right and one which I am not the name to the left.
The riccia is doing well, the riccia I added to the branch at the back is really growing fast, the riccia on the rock became loose so I had to tie it back down and not doesn't look as good any longer and the riccia on the mesh is groing but not at a rate i like, think the light as trouble reaching that deep since the riccia on the branch is growing fast and always pearling and near the gravel does not pearl, distance from light to gravel is 50cm.

Your tank still looking very beautiful!!! I like the riccia balloon. Very interesting :good: The new rosemary-shaped plant on the left looks nice too.

WOW! Your tank is absolutely gorgeous!!
I wish our planted tank looked like that!
Ours looks pretty empty though since we mainly only have sword plants in it...
But just.. hot damn.. your tank is amazing!

Just a quick update of the Riccia I place on the tree branch I picked up at Hyde Park Corner in central London.

I wouldn't recommend it, it was a complete waste of money, unless you have a very small aqua, less than 10G.
The cannister lasted me 2 weeks, and at £15 a pop it is a very expensive solution. If you get the pro version with the gauges you can buy an adpter and use a normal CO2 cannister, in which case its a good solution, I have the standard without the gauges.
I am using two Nutrafin kits and use a DIY (yeast and baking soda) solution, the yeast and baking soda cost me about £5 3 months ago and I haven't even used a quarter, just add the sugar to that and you can see a huge saving, if you have something up to a 30G then I would recommend DIY.
Hope that helps, if you need more info just let me know. :)

Hi guys, just a quick update, all is going well, the riccia in the meshes was not growing thoughout as I planned so this weekend I just re did it, since it had grown very fast on a couple of meshes, I now had enough to place a proper spread all over the 4 meshes. Will need to wait a couple of weeks for it to fully develop now, should notice growth by the end of the week.

Angled tank shot after a good trim of the plants and just before the water change:

As usual comments and critics always welcome :)
