You seem to be getting closer and closer now.

:good: Keith.

You did a 100% water change 11 days ago, if I read that log correctly. That would have eliminated all nitrates in the tank, assuming your tap water has zero nitrate. It could take a while for enough nitrites to get processed into nitrates to raise the level again.

+1

Think yourself lucky. My nitrates are 40+ppm straight out of the tap.

I thought that the Ammonia turns in to Nitrites which is then turned into Nitrates, so im processing 5ppm of Ammonia in around 15 hours also the nitrites so I thought I would get loads of nitrates.?

I don't know enough about the chemistry of the bacteria conversions, but as long as ammonia and nitrites are processing, you don't have to worry about the level of nitrates. You will always manage that level with your cleaning and water changes.

Oh crap, Tom! How do you manage the nitrate levels???

Hello Guppi,
Next time you perform a nitrate test give bottle two of the nitrate test several taps on a hard surface followed by a severe shake. The Api nitrate test has been known to present the fishkeeper with false results.

How many fish do you think this short cycle will support?

That is one of the benefits of the fishless cycling method and that is in theory being able to fully stock after your cycle is complete. I've seen a few members who have completed their fishless cycle and then stocked 80%, then for a 2/3 week period to keep an eye on their water parameters and then fully stocked if all ok.
You will have to post some pics of your tiger barbs, 18 :hyper:

Keith.

Cycle stats look good to me. Pics of the Tigers would be great!

Best I can do they wont keep still.
Thanks for all your help people.
Rams?

They look great Guppi. I bet feeding time is fun....
Ram is a new world cichlid member, GV has got some, a very pretty fish and make great parents if you have a pair.

Keith.
