Thanks for any advice!
I've been treating my betta's fin rot for 2 months and I still don't see new growth or improvement. He's by himself in a 5 gallon tank, silk plants, moss ball, small HOB filter with adjustable flow, water heated to 78 degrees. I've always done 25-50% weekly water changes so his tank was never "dirty".
Here's hat I've done.
2 rounds of EM Erythromycin
1/2 - 1 tsp aquarium salt/gallon, 50% water change every other day adding 1/2 tsp salt/gallon water added back
2 rounds Betta Fix
back to doing aquarium salt.....

Any ideas? He's never acted sick, always a good appetite. There's definitely less black on his fin edges, but I don't see any new growth.

I am so sorry half of the population of my tank died of fin rot a few days ago and all of the fish in there have been healthy for years. Have you tried a specific medication just for fin rot that is what I am trying to use right now on infected fish so together I hope our fish will heal. When did you start treating it and when did you recognize your betta had fin rot TIME IS KEY.:fish:

Welcome! I have been dealing with the same issue and tried water changes of 75% along with aquarium salt, bacterial meds, etc. I am now treating with Kanamycin and Furan-2.

When did you first notice the disease again time is key that way you can figure out if your fish may live or die. I caught the disease to late and 50% of my fish had it to deadly by then. Good luck treating your fish the medications you are using you should only use 1 at a time because the chemicals could react in the water aquarium salt is a good option and can be used with another medication like Furan-2.

If you are referring to me, thank you but Kanamycin and Furan-2 are commonly used together. In fact, you can purchase a med called Spectogram that already has both combined. Normally, fish don’t suffer demise from fin rot unless it is ignored for some time.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

What is your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH levels in the tank water? we want numbers.
How long have you had the fish for?
Did you add anything to the tank within 2 weeks of this starting?

-------------------------
Fin rot is caused by poor water quality that allows bacteria to grow and infect the fish. Fish kept in poor/ dirty conditions are more likely to have problems with this because they are weakened due to the bad environment.

Poor/ bad environmental conditions can occur in the home aquarium or at the fish farm, importers or shops.

Anti-biotics like Erythromycin should only be used on known bacterial infections that have not responded to normal fish medications. Improper use or mis-use of anti-biotics can lead to drug resistant bacteria that can kill people, birds, fish and animals.
Most anti-biotics also kill filter bacteria.

-------------------------
The best treatment for fin rot is doing a 75% water change and gravel cleaning the substrate every day for a couple of weeks. Feed the fish 3-5 times a day with a variety of foods including dry, frozen (but defrosted) and live. Monitoring their water quality and making sure there is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and less than 20ppm of nitrate. And keep the water warm and well oxygenated.

Thanks for everyone's input. I've had this fish for at least 2 years. I tested the water yesterday. O ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 ppm nitrate, 7.4 PH. I think I caught the fin rot early. It's my first experience with it. I haven't used any two treatments at the same time. Currently I'm doing 50% water changes every other day. His fins aren't getting worse, but I don't see improvement, either.
