Mmmmmmm Giant Bumble Bee Catfish!

Heloo all, just thought id share some photos of my latest aquisition. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Pseudopimelodus bufonius.

Thanks, hes only 4" long, hopefully will get to 8".
I remember seeing one for £75 not that long ago, and as I knew it had been in the shop for over a year I offered them £35 for it. They declined, and arnt I the lucky one; this one was £19!

Where did you get that name from? This is the fish i have always known as Zungaro http/www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/speci...?species_id=429 you had me worried when i read the title as theres a bit of a size difference

I've always known Psuedopimelodus bufonius as the Giant bumble bee cat.

I got the name from the place where I frist saw the species, but even when I found out about Zungaro zungaro it never twigged to me that the shops common name was totally inaccurate. Il call it the Giant bumble bee cat now to aviod confusion, as as you say, there is quite a size difference!

I got him from Wildwoods, im not paying the £75 that the other shop wanted for one, even if it is as nice as this one.
They still have two in stock if anyone wants one!

They arnt exactly active. Tend to just sit around in a corner for a while until they are fed. They can live out their days in a 3ft. But they will eat little things, like thoes new yelow tail congos of yours!
