Lol Fugly and Adamu are different types of beautiful xD The spawn is HOPEFULLY tomorrow. Tolak is sending me some BBS and IAL, so I'm gonna wait until I get those to spawn them. Although I'm happy to report that as we speak Adamu if FINALLY building a bubblenest! Granted it is under the styrofoam cup, but for some reason I have to put his favorite plastic ping-pong ball under there as well, or he wont build one. Keep ya updated!

Slight update.

Put Daxia in a clear vase inside the spawning tank about 5 hours ago, and they were flaring for about 4 lol Now for the past hour Adamu has been adding on to his bubblenest, and its getting HUGE. Imma take a pic of a video when it gets bigger to show you guys Can't wait until tomorrow!

Well I put Daxia in the tank about an hour ago, and so far hes just been chasing her. Slowly he's starting to lose interest and focus on his bubblenest, which got broken up from her fleeing lol. Im gonna pull an all nighter, so we'll see what happens!

Oh brother. Now that Adamu's got a woman, he doesn't even know what to do with her. Probably saying...

"NOOO!!! My bubblenest & it's not finished yet. I don't care if you're bigger. I'm in charge here. My bubblenest! Mine! No touchy... "

Well Daxia tried numerous times last night to spawn with him, but I guess Adamu either didnt think his bubblenest was ready or he was nervous. I needed sleep and he was being aggressive, so I put her in the cup inside the tank over night, and released her about 5 minutes ago. He doesnt seem as aggressive, and shes checking the nest out as we speak. Being very bold. Lets hope something happens!

Poor Adamu, cold fins... There are soooo many bad jokes running in my head right now about this situation, but I'll just stop at cold fins. Good that you gave them a break. Hopefully today will work out better.

If you can get video of the spawn that would be awesome. No pressure, though.

First try failed lol. Adamu was just way too aggressive for her, tore her anal fin up pretty bad, now she looks like a crowntail I now have them divided into a 5 gallon with nice clean water, and I think im going to try again on Tuesday. I'm getting BBS and IAL in the mail on Monday, so hopefully a combination of fresh water and the leaves will get them in the mood. Also I read about a technique where you take them from coldish waters like 75* and put them both into the spawning tank like 82* at the same time. It kind of shocks them, and gets them really into the mood to spawn.

So we'll see how that goes Daxia did try and embrace with him once, but he just got pissed and bit her >.>

Adamu's an idiot. Fugly would know what to do with a real woman like Daxia. What a baby she turned out to be, considering the size difference, you'd think Adamu would be the one to worry about.

Calm them down, feed them good food, they'll recover fine. Wish you luck on Tuesday.

Bad news, Daxia has swim bladder I had put them back in the spawning tank yesterday since they seemed to be in the mood, and Adamu ended up building a bubblenest that spanned over half of the 10 gallon surface. Well things ended up just like the first time, he chased and nipped her constantly and she still attempted to mate with him. Well now she has swim bladder, and is currently recovering in her own 5 gallon. I gave her a pea and epsom salt, and she has nice fresh water, so I hope that will help.

I really dont know why Adamu didn't work out, but I wont be trying him again. I'm going tomorrow to a nearby cichlid store to look for a new male so I can begin conditioning. Hopefully by the time the new male is ready, Daxia will have recovered and will be ready to go again. Hope you guys will still follow when I have updates! Wish Daxia well lol
