I few years ago I bought 10 black neon tetras. However one guy looked different when I got them home. He was a bit bigger and more bulky. Infact he wasn’t a black neon atall. He was a bit more aggressive than the rest and redder in colour.

Recently this fish (which I can’t identify) has become very fat and lost all its colour. It has also become a loner and deformed. Can you help minksey??

photos to follow

First throught it could be a Red Eye Tetra, they look similar to Black Neons and can grow up to 7cm

hes not a red eye tetra because he has a black stripe

well I don't know what species that fourth picture is... but whatever it is, I would take it back and get a refund.... haha

but.. seriously, looks like the body styling of a Krib, but it is not colorful enough to be a krib.

Maybe some species of danio?

To be honest, there are alot of smaller community fish that I am unfamiliar with.... but, I just couldn't resist the opening comment :good:

we dont know who the forth picture is, however it could be minkseys uncle!! i dont think its a krib or a danio. to fat for a danio.

it's an emperor tetra and a human with glasses
if the fish has green eyes its a girl, blue eyes = a boy.

yes, that seems right - it is an emporior tetra. we will search further for the human. however we still need a cure for the fish

the fish is old and on its last legs (or fins).
Looks like it is covered in excess mucous and has mouth fungus but I need a better picture to be more precise.
The excess mucous could be caused by poor water quality or a skin parasite. Check the water quality and if it is ok then you can try treating it with Waterlife Protozin. That will wipe out any skin parasites like costia or whitespot and should also treat mouth fungus if it has that.
The bloating could be internal organ damage. If the fish is still eating and doing normal looking poo theh try treating it for the above problems and see what happens.
If the fish is no longer eating and has done a stringy white poo then it is probably going to die. In which case don't bother treating it, just put it down.
