suggestions for centerpiece fish for 37 gallon tank suitable for my other fish!

I appreciate @Byron's explanation on variants and hybridization of the serpae species.
When I look at the fish in the first to in post #1 I wouldn't recognise them as serpae tetra. Hyphessobrycon, yes. Beyond that, it's confusing but I wouldn't say serpae. Especially since the OP has found them to be peaceful.

Well, this is certainly one on me. Glad you mentioned this. Those fish are without question not Hyphessobrycon eques, Serpae Tetra, not even remotely. There are a number of described species in this "clade" as Weitzman called it. The Rosy Tetra, Serpae Tetra, Black Phantom Tetra, Red Phantom Tetra, Ornate Tetra, and others. There was a so-called "Candy Cane" Tetra made popular a few years back, I cannot remember if this was a natural species or another man-made thing.

@Navfish youneed about 8 more of these, assuming you like them. But please make certain you get the same species. This is critical for avoiding stress and ensuring less aggression.
