I know that it grinds a few members' gears when people join the forum and post in the classifieds straight away trying to sell something. I think it would be reasonable to have a 100+ post limit to prevent posts like this. What do you think? :)

Completely agree, it would definitely make the forum much more safer for people who want to buy & sell

It would maybe encourage them to become active members, but could also encourage spam

I think a certain post limit would work well, it has on other forums i've been on... but i think 100+ is unnecessary maybe something like 50+ posts would be better. :good:

I don't understand why anyone would feel "safer" buying something from a perfect stranger who has made some posts on a forum than from one who hasn't.

All that making a minimum post requirement would do is to reduce the chances of your being able to get various bargains from people who are (for whatever reason) seeking to get rid of fish and/or equipment.

Ah, but it would stop most of the spam sales from those who are unlikely to be trustworthy, and are unlikely to bother racking up a post count (without getting thrown off for computer generated spamming).

Trustworthy or not, TFF does not encourage spam postings by anyone. Please keep in mind that if you purchase anything from our Classified section, we are not endorsing the seller in any way. Be sure to read this DISCLAIMER before listing or buying.

and that's why we love it here.
