Thanks everyone! I have named him Vesuvius, after the volcano that destroyed Pompeii.  
 
I talked the hubby into a 5.5 gallon tank (Petsmart had them on sale!) for him. I painted 3 sides of it black, and am waiting for it to dry currently. It will be next to my sorority, so don't want them to see each other. Plus, it'll just make the tank look nice Have a colormax flourescent bulb for the light hood. Hope to move him into it tonight!

I didn't think I liked bettas that much but Vesuvius might have changed my mind a little... He's quite Magnificent. And that name really suits him perfectly. How is he doing in his new home?

Here's his new home. It's bare at the moment, but will have plants in it soon. (This photo is from yesterday when I first put him in it...so pardon the bubbles/cloudiness. Just added substrate right before.)
