Media....which Seams The Better?

Hi there, I have got noodles as media.....small and large and would like to add more but having difficulty finding the same size noodles as i have now.so what else is used as media, I know about sponge, and I've heard of zeolite, but for biomass versus area grown on, what the best? thanks
