Hi all.

Several of my fish have given birth over the past few months. The first batch of fry to be born were blue Mickey Mouse platys.. most of them were eaten before I had chance to save them.
I bought a fry nursery and captured one. My white molly has also given birth.. i managed to catch four. I noticed my orange mickey mouse platy was heavily pregnant and about to drop. This morning I found a lot of fry huddled behind the netting of the fry nursery. I’ve managed to capture at least 20 ?

My friend has offered to take some. I’m going to keep some myself. What can I do with the rest? I haven’t got room for them all if they all survive. I don’t want to advertise them on selling sites just in case I get people using them as live food. Any ideas?

Try an lfs.... Maybe they're willing to take them.

Welcome to my world, I bought 6 guppys a few months back, 4 females & 2 males, My first female had fry 2 days later(no signs of pregnancy in the LFS) the following weekend another female had more fry. By this time i had maybe 15-20 survivors so i put them in my breeder whilst i set up a spare tank i had, Again the following weekend another female had fry then the same weekend my first female had another batch, so i am currently growing some up (around 30) in a 10 gallon but 1 of my main tanks temp housed a guppy female whilst i shipped out a few parents to a friend & she gave birth in there so now i have another 20+ fry in there. I take mine to LFS where i swap for food

Wow that’s a lot of fry. ? Just shows they’re comfortable in their environment. I have two tanks set up already and they‘ll become overstocked if I keep them all.
I‘ve got two fishkeepers lined up to have some. I’ll keep a few and hopefully some local fish shops will take them ??

Dunno where abouts you are but im in U.K & Guppys,Platys,Mollies seem in very short supply due to this virus, Not many LFS have much of anything & i have seen mutt guppys up here on social media going for £2 each, Platys & Mollies are a bit more expensive

Here is a few of them i managed to snap while eating, Almost 7 weeks old & starting to get true colours?
