Well:angry: :X l, my LFS assured me a tabg would be good for 30gal. But maybe not. My poor tang was in the bottom of the tank, with nothing wrong, no whitespot, etc. Then she died. Just like that. The rest are doing very weel, and all water parameters are good. Whatever...

Well, sorry but let me assure you a tag will not do well in a 30 gallon. They are open water swimmers and need at least 100 gallons plus plenty of sea weed to graze on. Being put into a small tank like that can be very stressfull to a tang, but there could be many other reasons the fish may have died. Better luck next time.

So sorry for the loss Christine

As you are aware now, tangs are not suited for a tank of this size. Its obvious that the shop you use cannot give you the right information or seem to care about the fish they sell. If you have the choice then i would advice a different shop, if this is your only outlet then i suggest you go and take a look at what they have in stock and come back here and ask us if what they have is suitable. We are all here to help and will gladly give advise on any fish you see that you are not sure on how best it should be kept.
