Lost A Corydora

Just found this thread, i lost a few panda's too.

Lost one to fungus, trated the tank and a second that had some fungus died. Unfortunate, thing is after that i lost 3 more over around 10days, no obvious reason.

Only one left now an s/he seems fine and healthy. Same for me as the water has been spot on all the time. I'm going to wait till the new year before adding some back in just to be safe.

I lost a bunch of trilis to fungus, and I only have two, one of those is a survivor and the other is a rescue. The survivor still has stunted barbels and I doubt they'll ever come back. I'm debating about getting more. I'm also debating about setting up my 15g just for the trilis and peppers. The bronze are laying eggs AGAIN as I'm typing this!

the water they came in ..Amm 0.50.....nitrite 0......ph 6.0

is the one at the front a male..the one behind a female?

I wouldn't worry about this, ever. The bag had just the cories in it. The pH was low, so the ammonia was in the non-toxic form. PLUS, they probably added something like StressCoat+ to the bag before filling it, to further ensure the ammonia was fine.

If you drip acclimate your fish (or do the bag in the top and slowly add water to it) then the fish will adjust to the change in pH, hardness, etc.

Now, if you tested the LFS's water directly from the tank, without the fish being kept in the bag of water, then we are talking about a whole different issue. The pH again wouldn't be cause for concern, but the ammonia would be... Not that it would be toxic at that pH, because I believe it would be fine, but just because it is there at all. It shouldn't be.

Oh, and congrats on the new corys. :good:

Sup with the Panda's rear quarter? Or is it just reflection?

Hard to tell the sex from the side, its often easier from above. That said, the one at the back does look decidedly "fatter" even from the side, so would err on the side of it being female, and the front a male.

it's just reflection..they look fine, slight red/pink gills but tank showing no signs of Ammonia, and as soon as it does (i test everyday) i do a big W/C.
2 of the peppers "hang" about alot together..and were kinda taking turns on top  i thought i saw them in the T position..but i would be VERY surprised if anything came from it though. hehehe

if i go by this sizing..i think i have 1 male 3 females :)
