Sophie I could only list the most obvious that come up whenever I am doing google searches which I am sure you have bumped into a million times.

The website you are referring to is not one that this board promotes.  It is actually quite questionable in its recommendations.  It uses far too simplistic algorithms for its recommendations, plus having several other flaws.
 
If you want to check it out, certainly go ahead, but its built in to the filters on this site to block that URL.  In fact, I think that URL will link you back to the homepage here, if linked from this page.
 
 
 
As for other quality sites, planetcatfish is probably the single best resource for all things... catfish.

I'm not suggesting that anyone should swear by it but I find that it can be quite useful in some instances for giving you a rough idea on how to stock your tank.

AQ can be a good starting ground but like everything should not be your only source. I have a habit of finding fish I like, check AQ, check here if green lighted, check my book of fishes then make my own educated decision.

Because you're so blinded by the awesomeness of this one, you don't see "competition" from other forums.
I wouldn't use a different forum now I'm here, one forum girl me!
Found one I finally like the look and feel of, and has decent people on it

This was the first place I found and seemed to have a significant amount of UK posters making much of the information relevant. Been here ever since. In fact, this forum has seen me through meeting my other half, 2 children and getting married. The only thing I've had longer has been my 20 gallon. Had that one month longer!
