Little Nemo Diary

OMG soooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one. Great video!

Just a small update...
Last clutch momma and daddy clown had caviar for dinner... Which was OK because my rotifer culture was very low so it gave me time to catch up.

The clutch before that is now 12 days old and adorable, most have their first or second stripe now. There's about 30 of them total.

And the 10g with a bunch of older clowns. These are the ones from the video, appropriately named "the monsters".

Here are the two from the 20g. They are likely the only two babies i'll keep. The larger one is pop-eye, he's the only one I have left from my original successful hatch. He had his 1st birthday last month :)
Mr. Sixline got moved here as you can see and he has been a perfect citizen now.

what will you do with them when you are getting consistant results? sell them to lfs?

Yes... Once the monsters get large enough, (probably another 3-4 months), I will be selling them where I work.

cant believe i just read that whole thing....

Just one question... In the early going, before you moved the fry into a container in the DT, how did you keep their water clean enough?

Bwuhahahaha, I miss raising these guys sometimes.

I'm not sure what you mean here. I caught the fry as they hatched in my DT using a larval snagger and then moved them from there into their fry tank.

Yep, lots and lots. During the first couple days I usually did two a day, siphoning up the non-survivors. I also used amquel, which helps to temporarily detoxify ammonia. After the first few days most of the die off that was going to naturally occur was usually over and water changes went down to as needed.

EDIT: Just realized that Pop-eye, one of the two babies I kept, is now two years old. :)

Haha, Popeye, amazingly, how lost most of his "popeye" over the past year, which I thought was going to be permanent. He has actually turned into a very pretty fish and is about as big as my daddy clownfish now. I have him and Fugly in my frag tank.

Yea, that's how he got his name...
He has a misshapen head and one of his fins is deformed to the point where it almost doesn't exist, he was born that way Definitely would have been culled by normal breeders :( that's why I kept him.
