Well, I am a little disappointed in my local M.A.

I took up my 2nd, 5" Syno for re-homing as they have large 'reservoir' tanks along with 8, good sized Juli fry (1"+) which they sell at £8 a piece at 2".

I then asked for a deal on 2 small Neolamprologus Caudopunctatus (Red Fin) and a single docile looking Neolamprologus Buescheri......£21!!! Hell, I thought but having a £20 voucher I went for them  Not happy though!

The stock are great and so far the Fronts havn't eaten the 'puncts yet

I really would like to source a cheaper supply of 'Puncts and adult 'Cyps :shifty:

The price for your punks is the same as the Wimborne MA near me. The lad I got my punks from has 2 males and 1 female for sale... I really wish I`d known you were planning on adding some to your tank, I could have saved you some money :X

Not sure if you`d be interested because the cyps are quite small (ish) but I`ll be having his female cyps so will be looking at rehoming a fair few of my males or taking them back to MA for some credit?

The other fish that the lad who workd at MA will be selling are:
2 black altolamprologus calvus 4-5cm male and female
3 neolamprologus caudoupunctatus 2 males and 1 female
2 featherfins 3-4cm not sure of sex
6 neolamprologus tetracanthus, 5-6cm

Glad you Fronts haven`t fancied a red fin lunch

Well, as I mentioned I had a voucher burning a hole and unfortunately I dont do 'plan' I was really only wanting to re-home a few then saw the 'puncts :look:

What length are your Cyps and what would you be looking for say 4? Also, any idea what the lad would be asking for the 2 calvus?

Typical huh

Not sure if they would be too small yet but my cyps are about 2 inches in length at the mo, they`re actually much chubbier and healthier looking than the ones we saw earlier at MA. I hadn`t really thought about price yet to be honest as I`m still waiting to have it confirmed about having the female cyps, I guess it would depend on what this lad is going to charge me....what would you consider a fair price on them?

I can send a msg on Facebook and find out prices on the calvus for you and will pm you when I get an answer ;)

Well just bear me in mind when the females are ready for you and we'll decide a price then (I'll start saving ;) ). Maybe a meet at the Cadnam shop could be arranged?

Yeah will do, I`m sure we can sort something out ;)

The 2 little 'Puncts are so bold. Took food almost right out of the mouth of the largest Front! Dare I say it but it looks like it's going to be ok. The Fronts don't both with the Juli fry either so fingers crossed.

The guy at M.A. said that if the Fronts were a little laid-back and well fed on a mixed and interesting diet then they may not feel the need to hunt.

You`ll enjoy the punks so much, they`re fantastic little fish and they really know how to look after themselves.....they`re great!! :good: :good:

I`ll be keeping my fingers crossed

Day 2 and the little 'Puncts are still there and the Fronts are showing no interest in them.... :good:

However, I haven't seen the Neolamprologus Buescheri since a few minutes after putting it in  At over 2" I do not think they have been lunch so I'm guessing shy :look:

He's probably hiding, hope so  I don't know how big your Fronts are but I have heard stories of them fitting Tropheus into there mouths
Glad the punks are settling in ok, they are pretty impressive, I'm wondering if I could squeeze a couple in when I finally get my tank uo and running
Keep the pics. coming :good:
