Lights and plants

The plants in your list in post #15:

First is small, similar to Salvinia, so I would get something more substantial.

Second (Frogbit) is more substantial, and a nice plant.

Three and four are Anubias species, should be fine for attaching to wood, and it will be less likely to become algae-thick if it has a good floating plant cover.

The next two I donot know, but from their data I would not.

Been to my local fish store and got

Java Fern like Anubias is attached to wood, rock, etc. either by inserting the rhizome into a crevice of using black cotton thread. It will grow roots to attach itself in time.

Also can I plant stuff into the gravel

Plants that should be rooted in the substrate, yes. Anubias, Java Fern and all floaters are not substrate-rooted plants. If you bury the rhizome of Anubias or Java Fern, it stands a good chance of rotting.

Got my plants in just waiting for some more

I have glued the moss onto the rocks and the drift wood there is not any movement on the moss at all does that meen that the flow down at the bottom isn’t very good? I read that plants should be getting some movement if there is a good flow at the bottom of the tank

Do I need a wave maker

Ok that’s great I wasn’t sure because I thought you need to have movement in the plants and also a wave maker would help with moving the mess to the filter intake

I can see movement in the video, just a little, but that would be enough for me personally. Not sure what others think.

For the fish species you have, water current is fine.

So as some of you may be away I’m looking to get plants

Do I need to upgrade my light?

And what setting should I have it on

At the moment it comes in at 4-11 with half brightness

And the light is just the standard that comes with the fluval Roma 125

The light is connected by the app
That is how I have it
If you get too much algae, reduce the blue light as much as possible. The plants will be fine.

Will the plants in my gravel eventually stay there and root in?
