Having visited a few LFS, well not so local  I realised that I would either have to put reviews on my journel or start a new thread, as we don't have a thread dedicated to reviewing shops in the Marine section.

So I'm just going to nip over to the 'otherside' of the forum and look what format they are using for theirs and will post here in a few minutes..........

The only Thread I could find was working like this:

Name of LFS
Website:
Variety -
Quality -
Service -

with numbers from 1 being awful to 10 being perfect in every way.

However what catergories do you guys thinks we should have? We could then do a short written review with photos if possible as well, that would be good?

If I get a few replies and ideas I will start it tomorrow (after I have written my Governors report  )

Looks good to me but I am somewhat biased about my LFS as I sometimes help out and am very friendly with all the staff (but they are bloody great)

Variety - 9 (lots of lps and sps not too much in terms of soft corals)
Quality - 10
Service - 10

You will not get better corals anywhere else. Very small shop but its worth the 2 hour drive for me just to see there range of sps. They didn't have much in terms of fish but the corals make up for it.

Variety - 8 (everything)
Quality - 8
Service - 9

Last visit the had some very nice looking SPS and a good range of LPS and soft corals (didn't pay too much attention to these but had a quick look). They have a few tank but again I didn't really pay much attention.

Variety - 8 (Mainly Soft corals and LPS with a few SPS)
Quality - 8
Service - 7 Can sometimes be a bit slow in being served.

There stock of fish is always great. Have a few unusual fish and all the fish that are hard to get feeding are kept in for longer until they start too feed. Normally has lots of Softie and lps frags as well as bigger coral. Service can be a little bit slow if you go there when there's others there.

+1 for The Reef Shack, Kevin who runs it is very knowledgable and will point you the right way even if it doesn't make him money, he won't sell stuff to anyone who he thinks might kill it and there is always a cup of coffee on offer. Will try and get some photos up of the shop if he will let me take some. He has revamped his livestock tanks and has quite a few fish now and can get whatever you want on request. There is a cafe next door.....could this be a Saturday meet up for the SE lot?
