Lets Have A Chat

very easy to run for reviews on the tl 550 ask trod and seffie if you want to know about the tl450 ask me but im out for an hour now so wont reply straight away

You can run with your own tank Yes! but believe me you'll wish you had a bigger tank when you get going. Plus all the equipment will be hidden from view which if your gonna use your existing tank we will be able to see 2x powerheads, 1x skimmer pump 1x heaterstat and probably another pump for a phosphate reactor. So before you start, your exisiting aquarium is gonna be filled with black plastic electricals which look unsightly and detract fro the beautiful scape you will be trying to create.
Just something to think about

Very true BigC.
So what would additional equipment would I need,
if I bought one of these?

All you'll need would be
A koralia pump directed at the surface placed at the back it's not noticeable against the same coloured separator plate.
My friend and fellow Reef Club member has one of these and I was well impressed with it.

I think I will go ahead and buy one of these then.
I will sell all my tropical equipment and the tank I was going to use.
Wait till I have saved up, then purchase one.
Then wait a month or so till I have enough money for LR etc.

The only thing that puts me off,
will I need access to the back of the tank alot?
As it will be up kind of high, I will properly have to stand on a stool to feed them etc.

Does it matter if its a red sea make or not?
I was looking at the one that bae sent the link to.
Or..

Dont matter which,,, I'd imagine, I hold a preference for the RSM due to aesthetics alone. I personally think its a better setup.
But the choice is yours to make do the research and decide for yourself.

I will sell all my equipment first.
Then see how much money I got.
Prop end up with about £200 if im lucky.

Cut your losses and buy a second hand Plug n Play Red Sea Max if you have the room. This will offer up a whole lot more options

i completely agree!

they look fantastic, i know people don't like the curved glass but i love it!!!

I'd love to do marine! but the amount of time i spend on tropicals, i don't think i could manage time effectively to keep marines lol ^^

i say keep your eyes wide open! and you might have to travel around! ive posted links to people selling 20-30kg's of LR for £50-£100, from people breaking tanks down!

I think feeding on a stool will be the least of your problems :p

Are you keen on the orca tl550? or interpet river reefs? they are nice looking, have rear compartments to hide all the heaters etc. Many i have seen on ebay with powerheads and test kits etc CHEAP! :good:

Just off to work then i will research about the tanks. Thanks for all your help so far guys

Just looked at both for orca tl550 and the interpet river reefs, They both fit where I want to put them.

I see the riverreef is around £200 and the orca is just under £300, but which do people recommend?

if memory serves me correct the river reef does not have a protien skimmer or uv so i prefer the orca but its up to you

Ah, that explains the money difference.
I might have a protein skimmer already,
So not sure what to do.
I suppose best thing to do is sell all my tropical stuff,
and see how much money I have from it all.
