I have a 12 year old high temp female leopard gecko. Today I have noticed her belly looks a little, I dont know how to describe it really, fat? bloated perhaps? and her breathing looks a bit heavy. Ive never noticed this in the 12 years Ive had her. She seems to be eating OK ( eates on a seasonal cycle) and her tail is fat and healthy.
I dont think its because shes old as someone gave me an old male gecko before I had Vera 12 years ago, and he stopped eating, went really skinny and died when he was old. (They told me this was normal for him) she looks nothing like he did.
So Im wondering, if she is bloated then what should I give her, should I see if she improves and take her the vet? and the breathing? its not usual for her....perhaps its been the change in temperature in my apartment since the weather has gotten bad? Her poops look normal ( not sure if this is relevant but it might help haha)
Thanks for any advice! Has anyone else had a gecko with similar problems?
OOOps I posted this in the wrong forum, could somebody help me to move it to the household pets section? It is late and I am tired lol
