Lazy Dog....

First I'd like to state that my dog is the laziest slug in our world.
Secondly, he has claimed our love seat, and when he's not eating, he's on it sleeping and looking out the window.
Now, he's a 120 pound, rough, tough yellow lab/golden retriver mix.
I have no idea how he got so fat, and weigh so much, because it certanly isn't ordanry for a dog to weigh more than its owner (Me)

Anyways, he makes rerally funny noises when he sleeps. I mean, we'll be watching a movie, and he (On his self-proclamied loveseat) will start...like moaning! Its so weird.....We just came to the conclusion he has bad nightmares. And he does it alot. Its so weird.....
Anyone elses dog like this?

Yup, my dog does that all the time.

Your dog also looks almost identicle to my dog I had in highschool. Same breeds, same color, and same weight . Unfortunately, he was put down about 8 years ago from cancer . The pix brought back some good memories though!

What a sweet looking boy he is . All dogs dream, and some tend to be particularly vocal dreamers, but I don't think they are always necessarily bad dreams. They might simply be dreaming of doggie things, perhaps he is dreaming of being out howling with a pack of other dogs or something. It'd be interesting to learn what they dream about wouldn't it?

My dogs used to moan and whimper in their dreams, and their legs and tails would twitch - I don't think it was bad whimpering though - I think they were dreaming about chasing rabbits!!!

My cat whistles and snores when she sleeps - that's because she's a lil fattie and when she puts her head down all her chins push against her windpipe. She wakes herself up sometimes, it's so funny! If your dog is really moaning and is very overweight, I would ask your vet if he thinks it could be obstructed breathing and if he thinks it's dangerous or not. My cat is fine, she just rolls over into another position, but I guess in some larger animals it might be time for a diet!

It'd be interesting to learn what they dream about wouldn't it?

Yeah! I wounder what he thinks about too.......I do know that he hates cars!!
(He got hit by a car 3-4 years ago, and broke his hind leg. He's all back to normal now!)

He's lovely but remember when a dog is over weight you shorten their life span and put their health at risk, it might be time for a sensible diet and an exercise regime, make it fun he'll love the attention.
