I used to ride when I was a young girl but I've long since forgotten it all, sadly.  The only time I've tried riding a horse since was in New Zealand eight years ago, just a gentle guided walk through Lord of the Rings countryside.  My horse was magnificent, a black stallion, he actually starred in the films as a black rider's steed.  I've got photos of myself sat on his back like a sack of potatoes

you would cringe if you saw it.

Queenstown.  We did a tour of New Zealand starting in Auckland and ending up in Christchurch.
I dug out a photo, such beautiful scenery there.  I'm the one in beige showing my expert sitting position

I live in Tauranga. Dunno if you went there, but it is about an hour or so from Rotorua (you had to have gone there )
 
Queenstown is lovely! When I did a tour of the South Island in the beginning of 2012 I loved it! Didn't stay there, as the accommodation was quite expensive, instead I stayed in Arrowtown, which is also lovely
 
Hehe, got a feeling that back ground scenery is going to make EA drool, I know he wants to come to NZ
