But only if the thread is locked before anyone else has posted.

If the thread is locked after this post then I will win.

Won't it?

Anyway... look for an update soon to my journal... Got some pics and video, just can't upload right now.

That one won't be the last one either.

If there has to be a bun fight to get the last post, then I challenge you all to at least say something interesting!

How about this.  If you're from the US, tell me if you've ever visited the UK and whereabouts and what you thought of it.  And vice versa if you're from the UK, or anywhere else, have you been to the US and where did you go?

I've been to Canada, but not crossed the 'pond'.

I've been to Arizona though, that's like a separate country...

I've only ever been to the US once and that was Denver, Colorado, on business.
I didn't really get to see a lot of the country but two things stood out in my mind.  One was that you can't WALK anywhere.  The locals all looked at us like we were crazy people when we wanted to walk across the road to the shops rather than drive.  The other was the shape of the fields as we flew over, endless miles of huge square fields, all the same shape and size, all planned out and allocated as if the land had been carved up into a huge chequerboard.  Over here each field is uniquely individual, different shapes and sizes in a random patchwork.

Yes the UK has pizza.  You guys didn't invent that, by the way.  Grapes... are we talking about fruit?  There are a very few vineyards here.
As for American football, I used to be into it when I was at Uni 20 years ago.  It was on telly once a week at 6am and I used to get up early to watch it each week.  I even remember staggering back home at 6am after a night drinking and devotedly turning the telly on to watch it (then fell asleep lol)

Interesting discussion regarding 'pizza'.  I don't what pizza is like in the UK, but pizza here is born of two different varieties...

New York style and Chicago style.  Italy, of course, was the birthplace, and the vets from WWII brought it back with them from Europe after the war.  But, from what I understand, the original from Italy is very different from what has been brought here and the NY and Chicago styles couldn't be any more different.

I'm curious to learn more about UK pizza.  :book:

Oh yea chicago deep dish garbage, why did you bring that up? :p

I wouldn't call that "garbage" (but you being a displaced New Yorker, I can understand your sentiments), but its not what I think of when I think of pizza.

We have both deep-pan American pizza and the thin 'n crispy Italian varieties here.  I like both.  I didn't know there was a difference between NY and Chicago pizzas?
We had pizza for dinner tonight.  Sometimes I'll make it from scratch, Italian style, but usually I'll be lazy and just buy a Margherita base and add my own toppings.  The shop-made pizzas are SO stingy on the toppings.

There's actually a vineyard quite close to where I live, I drive past it on the way to my favourite LFS.  It's undoubtedly tiny compared to the vineyards near you though.

yea, mine state just has alot of fertile land on the coast so we can grow more, we also have alot of drunks, connection maybe?

No vineyards in this part of the US.  They are mainly in California.

BIG difference between Chicago and NY pizza.   Chicago style requires a knife and fork to eat it.  NY requires 'folding' the slice to eat it.
