I have 4 that I got from Liam Initially I had one very big male and 3 smaller sub males or females but now two of those are nearly equal to the larger male and they are all growing! I reckon my biggest is about 5 inches now.
thanks guys, I actually didnt think they got that big I was planning on adding them to my 200l tank, but I do have room in my 300, although they are only 2" at the moment looking so tiny in my quarantine tank lol. How fast growing are they? I have a fair few elderly fish at the moment
They can be quite tough on each other but I have had much much worse, they never seem to do any lasting damage ever. Ive had groups of Geophagus that have been much more tough towards each other. But I do seem to be having a different experience with them in a bigger tank (6ft instead of 5ft) from Liam, he mentioned they are a bit more argumentative in a smaller tank.
Its a tough call really as 3 might be ok but then if you wait and the shop sells out it could be hard to get more... Maybe get the 6 and see how they get on - you have enough tanks to move them if major problems occur haha!!
Thanks Wills, I think I will stick to the 3 then just in case they do get upperty with each other, I can split 3 easily 6 would be pushing it. Plus the shop is suppose to be getting me a diadema
Wow these little horrors are funny! considering they are wild caught its only taken them 48 hours to learn to wag at the food pot lol, they are still very shy but getting better.
Hopefully got something a bit special coming next week
