So ive been busy and just not had time since my last update, sorry, getting back into the swing of things now and just did a 50% wc, ive got some bba clinging around but it should die off with some decent wc's over the next few weeks. Not much has changed with the tank and the stock is limited at the mo, anyway some update pics, hope everyone is doing well!
Tank was in a bit of a mess, runners everywhere! Hoping to clean it up over the next few weeks
I love the scape! One question though: is that rock affecting your pH? I have a very similar one, and I love it but it was fizzing a bit during the vinegar test. Have you noticed whether it affects your pH?
Ive had that rock for years and it was bought from my lfs, tbh there is very little of it compared to the volume so cant imagine it affects it at all... Definitely havent noticed a ph change anyway, I have also seen quite similar rock in other peoples tanks though so maybe they are just similar in look..
It needs a good old clean as you can see it though!
My Angel has passed on. Im to blame really, after being away for about 5 weeks the tank was not at its best and the lack of water changes and most probably irregular feedings by my dad (not his fault) has meant im left with some tetras in a 75G(which I cant even catch anyway!)
I want to start with some new stock, any ideas? Ive been thinking of maybe a school of something slightly bigger, dwarf neon rainbows? or even rainbows? I want some bigger fish basically lol!
I am a fan of schooling fish but its not the be all, any comments welcome (would love discus - just dont have the funds right now )
Sorry to hear that! You have a great size for larger shoaling fish. What about some danios? Very underrated fish and they will love the space in there. I am a fan of pearl danios and they are also good for your economy!
Another option are congo tetras, with a few males in there you will have a great coloured bunch.
I havent considered danios, not a massive fan of top dwellers really, also they're so fast lol but yeah congo tetras i have thought about, im yet to see them in my lfs though, im going down there now so ill take a second look
There was many danios available, just on the small side i think, i also saw congos which looked great but a tad pricey at £6 each, i went for albino tiger barbs in the end, i got 6 today which i will increase, may get 6 tiger barbs aswell rather than more albinos. Wasnt too struck on the green ones
They are noce against the green vallis
