Kari's Return To The Salty Side

Couple more pics, these are a bit boring, but I thought I would share my pod culture:

Heres a pic of some of them on the glass:

The pod tank, its a 12inx6x8 glass tank, unheated with an airstone, kept in the window for lots of light, they are fed with a few drops of pod feed every day

the bottom is fairly manky but i've been assured this is normal & good :good: I will be setting up another small tank next week & will suck out some of the crud from the bottom of the culture for the new culture

my pod feed was a part of the kit I brought from ebay for £8.99, I got the food which will last a couple of months, plus the pods & rotifers. I will probably buy more pod feed from them, as they seem to be doing so well on it.

I dont know if I am allowed to post links to ebay on here? If you search for seller called: phytoplus1

Happy Mothers Day to all the reef mummies on here :*

My mothers day has gone very well so far, I got wine & choccies, as well as some lovely hand made pressies and cards.

Then hubs gave me some spending money & an invitation to go spend it at Maidenheads, so we went shopping & lookie what we got:

they have just been let loose in the tank, I will try to get more pictures later

Sorry for the lack of updates, everything was going so well, we went on holiday for a week, when we got back I noticed a large scratch on the front of the tank, about 3inches. Wasnt sure how it got there, but with 3 kids, things do get scratched.

Over the next couple of days the scratch got bigger & wider & it seems we have a large crack :( I cannot afford a new tank & this one is so old its not worth repairing, i'm sure there would be another weak spot.

The only thing I can do is save my corals & a few of my fave critters in a little 20ltr pico tank & the rest is being sold :(

Have already found new homes for most of the fish, but i'm going to keep the little rock goby & possibly the watchman, as i've noticed alot of people have a watchman/shrimp pair in the pico set ups.

So today, lots of organising, the pico tank has been scrubbed & the back is painted black. I've used water from the tank, along with some of the sand & some smaller pieces of live rock, so I shouldnt have a cycle.

Providing all stats are fine in the morning I will move over some of my CUC, my black goby & the watchman, I also have a little sexy shrimp in there I would like to move over if I can catch it.

I ordered a small 20w light today, which I think should be plenty for my softies.

If anyone needs any live rock I have 21kg to sell now :(

Oh I am soo sorry about your tank, had just been reading your journal from the start and it was going so well too.I do hope something turns up for you.

Really sorry to hear that - but would love to see some photos of your new pico :good:

tell us where abouts you are just in case one of us needs some nice new rock in our tank - I could do with a bit more but don't think you are near me?
