Just noticed i have a snail on my glass only small, are they good for your tank or should they be removed?
Chris

Hi Sharpy.

They won't harm your fish in any way and they may even do a little tank maintenance for you in the form of algae cleaning.
But some snails can become pests within weeks. 1 could turn into 10, then 20 and so on...

There are other snails you can buy that won't reproduce like mad, Apple Snails for example.

James.

I would remove it, i had a snail come in with a plant, and now have over 40. Each time i get rid of a load, more come after.

I had one in my tank once, but since I wasn't sure what it was at the time I just washed it off anyway. Sounds like they multiply pretty quickly though, so I'd take it out.
Best to just wash off plants when you get them home and before you put them into your tank, since then you can avoid getting them in in the first place :D
