I know we're all tired of those "look how horribly small this betta container is" threads, but this one I found on Ebay comes with an instructional video!! I found myself wondering as I watched this... exactly what about this tank makes maintaining it easy?? If it's sooo easy to clean, why do you need a freakin' funnel to put the fish in it? Nevermind cruel, this is just downright retarded. :X

That ain't no aquarium!!!

That's one of those glass blocks that's used for the construction of glass walls (see picture). The guy must've taken some of them blocks from some construction site to pass off as "aquariums" on ebay!!!

I just can't believe the ways bettas are abused for profit.

OMG! That is appalling :grr: ! I feel so sorry for that poor betta and the way the guy just chucked him in the box without bothering to acclimatize the fish to the water or even make sure the water is the right temp or even condition the water. And the light! the poor thing has no where to hide or has any shade from the light which appears very strong  imagine the amount of stress that fish must have been under and gone through to make that demo... :(
That fish will die....

 Idiot of a man, how cruel is, that poor little fish, and that a******* trying to make a quick buck. Lets hope no one catches on to the glass box idea of his!

I was looking yesterday, have any of you seen the extra small ones that hang on the wall now? :grr: Also there is a lady selling tanks as kits that come with rocks and plants.....they look as small as the cups from walmart. They too come with an instructional video. I will try to find links to these later. :sly:

My mum tells me its quite the thing in Canada where she lives to hang little glass bowls with bettas in off the ends of curtain rails

I told her she ought to tell anyone she knows that is doing it how bettas really should be kept. She's already managed to save a few from this horrendous ordeal thanks to the powers of TFF :D

Darn it fishylovebug- they were the exact two I was going to post .

Great minds think alike. :D
Trust me there are tons of others that will boil your blood. Have you seen the home made wine bottle tank for a betta yet? :X

What I'd like to know is....
What happens when someone slams the door a little too hard and this "tank" falls off the wall? What happens then?

Y'all have seen the bettas that are sold inside purses, correct?
In case not, here THAT is too...

Believe me, I've been busy emailing places like this one, and sending emails to ebay sellers. They just ignore contacts. I'm going to try and get some research done today to see what laws they are breaking, and i'm going to see if I can at LEAST file a complaint with someone.

I might just eventually have to go make these contacts in person...
:shifty:

FYI - it looks like at least for this one particular seller, no one has purchased any yet. YET.

I just emailed the seller:

"So - I just discovered your "betta fish tank kit" for sale. And wanted to contact you and let you know that this is not what you should be calling a "fish tank kit". You should RATHER be calling it a mini death trap. People exploiting the mistreatment of animals, particularly betta fish, for profit with blatant disregard for their wellbeing and happiness make me SICK. Unfortunately for betta fish, they are very hardy and can live in pretty minimal conditions. It is because of their ability to stay alive just about "anywhere in almost any condition, as long as they can come to the top of the tank for air" that makes people want to try just about anything to make some money off of them. These tanks you are selling are inhumane and you should stop selling them."

Gooooooooooooooooo BettaMomma!

I also sent her a message explaining that for starters her "tanks" were WAY to small, second the "rock" she includes looks like glass to me and those edges are not smooth which can harm the betta.

We will see if she responds. -_- What kills me is that she has 100% rating

Oh here is that wine bottle one.... I have to say it takes the cake.

To clean is very easy, just lift and pour water, right out of the top, rinse well and you are ready to go. I have had this fish in this tank for 4 months and he is doing very well and he is happy. Fish and shells and gravel not included.

Yes thats why he is so clmaped I could barely tell it was a betta. :grr:

Well, me's going to try to access my bt account, then make an ebay account (I'm too young, and you need a credit card with yahoo and hotmail accounts. But I'm not going to buy anything. My dads account is for that.). Then complain.
