All these storys and how cool oscars are, I finally went out and brought one to put in my 4ft tank.
for the past week, he has been a very dull color, and he is just sulking in the same spot.
Im wondering when this sulking phase is going to end? Im worrying about him an awful lot.
He is eating though, on the 2nd day in there he hunted down all the neon tetras and ate every 15 of them.
Then about 2 days later i dropped in frozen bloodworms and he loves them.
Im also trying to get him to eat Hikari Gold to try and bring out his colors more.

but he just sits there and sulks all t he time :( And i want him to get better because i want to change my tank to sand because i like the look better, When do you guys think would be an ok time to change the sand?

Here is a picture of him

Oscars can sulk for very long periods of time, its their speciality, so dont worry, if he's eating well, which he obviously is, bet he loved those neons  then you have nothing to worry about. I would suggest, not knowing how long your tank has been set up and what other fish you have, to keep a close eye on your water stats, as Oscars are extremely messy fish and produce a heck of a lot of waste, which could cause a mini cycle.

My advice is to not change to sand, with O's it becomes very messy quickly and can be a nightmare to keep clean, but its your choice.

How big is he and whats his name? :D

He is about 10cm long roughly.
I named him Rodney :D

btw His colors are slowly coming out more, and the fish that i used to cycle the tank, there is only one left..
The goldfish are way to big for him to eat, but he does it anyway, im trying to catch the last one now before he eats too much and he cant swim anymore lol
