hi all just a quick update,have placed an order with ae for £165 worth of stuff dry ferts,liquid ferts, bubble counter, diff,test kits (liquid) etc, should be here by wed/thurs total spent so far £1865 and stll counting regards john.

hi nry as it happens i have not purchased any ada stuff for this project because of cost, but later this year i plan to (as my second setup) go with ada stuff for the majority of the setup, i will go for an opti white high clarity 60x45x45 tank overhead lights, then see what funds i have left and decide what stuff to buy to finish the setup. there is one thing, my older son would like to try a marine setup with my help, but i am trying to convince him to have a planted setup in his bed room, we will see. regards john

hi all my stuff turned up late last night (thurs) driver delivered it to next door who didnt bother to bring it round to me until 7pm, unfortunatley the box was damaged and my bag of kno3 was split open, my wife thought i was ordering cocaine it was all over the carpet she was not amused i phoned richard at ae and he is sending me replacement kno3 today (fri) shouldnt be to long before the tanks here i will take some pics when it comes and upload them.regards john

Maybe next door sniffed some thinking it was cocaine! Probably explains why they didn't bring it round until 7pm!

Same happened with some CO2 cannisters that came for me the other week. I guess because they were the same length and weight as wine bottle someone hung on to them until about 7-30 when they brought them round.

Post is not what it used to be lol. As long as its the right street that'll do. lol

Waiting for the planted shots though John. Anywhere near that stage yet?

I'm especially interested in seeing the huge wallet hung from the ceiling as a luminaire with money falling into the tank.

Hi Andy the wallet is empting fast i am still waiting for the tank to be made at wharf aquatics shouldnt be too long now, by the way i am a transport manager at royal mail but i agree job is not what it was regards john

My postie insists on leaving small parcels/packages etc on our kitchen windowsill outside but not telling us they are there. If they blow off i've had them sit outside in rain etc for days before I am outside the back of the house and find them....

Some of the other couriers do the same though. They say in their adverts requires signature, and then sign the card 'Left round back' lol

Hi all just a little update on progress, popped into my lfs yesterday (sat) and purchased two visi-therm 300w heaters, i changed my mind about the inline hydor heaters because of cost for two, hopefully if i get the planting how i want you wont see too much of them. i have rang wharfe aquatics to see how my setup is coming along and they said it shouldnt be too long now (im like a kid in sweet shop cant wait ). today i may pop out to buy some last bits and pieces i still need but the weathers crap so might just sit and read instead. regards john.

They are £31+3.75 delivery on ebay on buy it now.

Not much expense compared to how much you have been spending and would get equipment out of the tank.

I bought a second hand 1 for £12 a month and half ago but there must've been a leak in the glass tube. Thats the only problem with buying fish equipment second hand on ebay. It's often being sold because of a fault (either that or there are thousands of people who are giveing up fishkeeping due to house moves. lol)

Waiting to see your startup pics though. Hope its good for all the moeny you've spent

HI Andy tbh another reason i didnt go for the hydor,s my mate used one he had leakage probs all the time in the end he got his cash back and used visi- therms. i am trying to keep cost down as much as poss because ae has a sale on tropica plants at the mo, i would like to buy all tropica and thats gonna cost me but its the plants what make the setup right, so hopefully by going with quality plants and planting heavily i can keep algae at bay. regards john
