Are you cycling your tank now?

Hi, no i am not cycling my tank at the moment i have every thing in place ready for the planting i havent decided on my final scape until planting day because i still have some wood soaking in vats, i dont know if you have used redmoor wood but if you take it out of water for any length of time it will float again after drying out, hopefully my plants will be here next week, regards john.

Hey John, hang in there, this seems to be taking forever but I think everyone is in agreement and can't wait to see it! I hope it's worth it!

Thanks for the tip on the redmoor wood, I soaked a spare bit for weeks to use in a breeding tank which I never got round to setting up (Haven't got the fish yet!) and it's been dried out for months.... It looks the business though.

Hi all, i have just had a horrible thought i have without thinking lent my camera to a spanish lady friend of ours and she has gone home to madrid for a month, so i wont be able to post any pics of planting until she comes back, i would like to add it was my wifes idea whilst i was at work last week she didnt think i would mind.

Hi nry, and theres me thinking we are all mates on here , seriously i may go and purchase the cannon D400 digital slr i can make the wife feel guilty for borrowing it to our friend and i now have the upper hand in my quest to get the one i want . i must be honest the way things have panned out is becoming a bit of bummer, i am a bit fed up with all the waiting so i have decided to drive to aquajardin this morning (sunday) to try and move things along a little if possible, the tank itself has everything inplace ready to go, i used nine bags of eco-complete, i have some more wood soaking in vats,the filters are ready with all the media washed and installed, the co2 is all connected up which includes bubble counter,solenoid, nrv, timers, and i have some gorgeous rock for the left and right sides of my planned scape, which will be something along these lines,the hemianthus (cuba) will run from wide to narrow through the middle, the right hand side will mound slightly with rock at the base of the mound and java moss on the wood,the base of the rock will have pogostemon helferi and just above will be crypt wendtii brown and green, then stem plants at the back in the corner, the left side will be much the same but not as tall as the right side, anyway i would like to thank you all for still reading this journal it is draging on a bit hopefully the plants will be here this coming week kindest regards to you all john

Just bought one of those badboys myself about a week ago and I can highly reccommend it, tis an excellent camera. Get it before end of august and it's £50 cashback also!

Got a 400D myself and really enjoying it. Watch out that upgrad-itus doesn't kick in or else it gets expensive!!!

Hi all, well the planting has been done it took me 5 hours, tropica in their good faith sent me extra plants as a good will gesture , the only problem i had was fitting them all in, my planting plan has gone a bit off course due to the amount of plants but i am not too bothered because i can change things in due course when things have established,one thing i am not to sure about is the rock i have used, you will all have tell me what you think, as this is my first planted tank i dont think its to bad an effort. as for pics i have taken some with my old cannon A60 but i cant find the flippin usb cable i will keep looking if not my spanish friend returns on the 19th of this month, as for the original plant order only eusterallis stellata and hygrophilla polysperma were missing regards john
