Jellybean Parrot Fish

:) well my babies have been doing good, i few didn't make it but right now i have them in a seperate little tank but the female found a few left in the big tank so im leaving them in there and i still have my male in a seperate dish for a while

Thanks, yes my jellybeans are a mix of pink convicts and a blood parrot, but they are died i have a pink one thats pregnant and a blue one thats a male. my female laid her eggs two days ago, i hope everything works out  do you know how long it will take for the babies to hatch?

I have just found out that i have jellybean parrots so how do i find out if they are a mix of convicts and blood parrots or not?? My parents have 2 breeding pairs which are unstoppable and i have one pair this now that breed on a regular basis.

Does anybody have any ideas about a good set up for having parrots?? Heavily planted?? Lots of rocks and hiding places?? Which?

Thanks in advance

..cause youre going to get everyones opinions when you post public topics.

If you dont care what we think why ask us for advice? And what a childish thing to say too, are you sure you are 17? People in life are gonna disagree with you sometimes, the fact that we have exeperiance that you lack would suggest to me that you should listen to our advice.

Anyhoo do what you like its your fish

chelsea they are just giving you advice... it is up to you whether you listen or not.

i wish we all could get into a room though and jsut talk that way. written words on a computer screen never convey ones feelings correctly and left out words or phrases are assumed and the whole story isn't known so hostility is formed.

but anyways... chelsea take in everyone's advice and decide which one YOU feel will be best for YOUR. that is the whole purpose of comparing your experiences in these threads. not everyone has the same experiences or feelings about the subject(especially with hybrids and how little is really known about them as well as their unpredictability).

look at it this way... would you raise your children the same way as your neighbor? no most likely you will listen to advice see how they do it, then you will draw up a plan using al of the advice and observations that ypu made to draw up your own game plan. it's the same with fish. listen to everyone's advice and experiences and draw up your own gameplan by deciding what seems like it fits your fish best and what is best for you.

well that said, i will leave it there and move onwards :good: ...

its not that i dont like your advice its just you seem to disagree with everything im doing and it seems like you want to argue, thats not what im here for :(

the only advice i gave so far is to listen to what everyoen is saying and decide what is best for your fish. if you feel that what you are doing is best by all means go for it, and if not then change it.

i personally think you are doing a good job and i wish you the best of luck with the fry

Thanks, im trying my best to keep them alive and healthy :) :D

i have my male in a floating breeder tank lol because hes mean!! and the moms in the big tank that the males floating in.. my babies are in a seperate smaller tank, im waiting for them to get bigger so i can put them in the big tank again :*

Remember that the parents will no longer see them as their own fry since the bond has been broken.Depending on the size they may see them as food or even a threat. You realy shouldnt keep the male for a long period of time in the breeder as its very stressful for him.

As far as Chelsea not wanting to deal with you guys I can't blame her. Nevergone is nice, Chelsea is nice, I'm nice. Nice isn't that hard to do. It just takes words like "maybe" or "good luck". Advise is useless if it's given in such a way that it will be ignored. Don't you think it's a bit odd that I can say the exact same thing as one of you and get a much better response? Do you think it's because I have more knowledge? No! It's because I'm nice about it. Somehow I can tell someone their tank is too small or their fish are incompatible without causing them to go on the defensive. Do yourselves a favor if you ever have the opportunity. Take a business Psychology class. You'll be amazed at how much difference the way you say something can make. I hope you all have a wonderful day. And if anyone needs some friendly advise or just a second opinion my PM box is always open. :D
