I know theres been loads of topics on this but..

I've just been to my local garden centre and the pet department has the Jbl Proflora CO2 Set Vario 500 Profi Set 2 for sale for £135,and the Hydor CO2 Green NRG Exclusive System for £75.

I know theres a major difference in price, but apart from that and that one is refillable and one disposable, which out of these two would people recommend?

Thinking of going to Maidenhead Aquatics at Bold Heath this weekend but theres no stock list on the website.

Cant really give a very good evaluation as I have only used the JBL set and then only for a couple of months. I can tell you though that it has done a great job for me so far. The disposible bottles last about 2 months for me (so far).

If you look, the hydor uses tiny 76g cylinders, that'll last all of about two days and they cost about the same as a 500g cylinder costs to refill. In other worlds, of the two get the JBL, although I don't like the JBL reg, its crap in my honest opinion.

Do not, repeat, do not get that Hydor system......

I bought it not doing enough research and I wasted over £40. The cannister DID only last two days (I think it was because I had it on a little too high), to work out the bmp is incredible hard and not accurate. You have to install a power device in the tank, that's actual power cables inside the tank  and as the guy said above the cannister is tiny!

I ended up selling it on ebay for £32, but I would have acceted half that just to get it out of my site. I was recommended a kit from a German company. It was the SAME PRICE and it comes with a 500g bottle, easy to install and NO power cables in the water - what a crazy design - doh!

Anyway, I think I have got my point across.

Good luck and I hope you go with the right choice.

Martin :good:
