I've Never Seen This Before....any Ideas?

I have a betta that looked fine last night then when I checked on them this morning, the scales on his head were all pineconed up, just like when they get dropsy but he has no other signs of anything, he's acting fine, eating good, there is no pineconing on the rest of his body. He isn't showing any signs of parasites at all. I'll try to get a good pic after I get home but if anyone has any clue what this could be, please let me know.

It might be an early sign of dropsy.
But pictures will definately help.

i agree it could just be early stages of dropsy but pictures will help identify the problem.
