I just bought some dyed Ghost fish. I was not aware that it was dyed and there was no notification given my the LFS dealer or applied on the tank.

Can I take them back for a full refund as I do not agree with dying and wasnt notified of this before purchase?

Thanks.

You can try.. there's no legal obligation for the shop to take the fish back.

Do you mean Glassfish?
Do they have bright colours above their body?
pictures?

I just saw these bright fish and fell in love.

They didnt look dyed in that tank and there was nothing to make me think they were (when in a tank with neons and next to a tank with guppies)

I got them home and they look painted and I thought, I hope not.

I dont want to support this.

Here is a suggestion. It isn't the fishes fault its dyed. You giving it back may results in its death. At least with you its safe and will be looked after. If you refund them they may go to someone who doesn't give a #41#### and introduces them to horrid poor quality water. I would keep them and give them a good home. As I said, it isn't their fault!

Your not supporting them. You giving it a good home. It's still a fish!

Agree with JPeterson.

It is truly horrif the things they do to fish now, I still can't believe it's legal. But like he said, It's not the fishes fault. If you wish to do so, I'd have a word with the manager and tell him that they should be labelled as being Art. dyed, to avoid other people being misled.

Skittles

You could even ask if he knew what they were. If he doesn't you should suggest to him not to sell them any more as it does offend a lot of people and may loose him more business then it gains.

I took them back. They were very arsey about it. Refused to advertise them as dyed saying its up to the customers to ask. Who is going to ask when they are in tanks with bloomin bright neons, and guppies etc.

anyway, took them back. Wish I hadn't. It's just led to more hassle and I agree now I've thought about it... I could have provided them with a better home than some.

but...

Was sold some Cherry Barb today after the LFS dealer told me they only grow to 2", they infact grow to 5".
I've already had enough trouble with this dealer today (had to get barb in exchange for dyed fish) so I really don't want to go back.

Things is, I have two tanks, two bettas. These barbs cant go in either peacefully as the two fighters HATE them. So i've had to give these barbs their own tank and put one betta in the other tank and the other in a holding pen/breeding pen.

This is not an ideal living arrangement so if anyone is willing to take them off my hands for say 6 pound (so i make an instant loss)??? Offers?

They are lovely barbs in good condition (the only point a can credit the LFS is their quality...just poor salesmenship)

#41####, shouldn't have taken the barbs should have just lost the money you paid for the dyed ones then never went back for fish from him.

This one: http://mytko.org/random/tattoofish.jpg its just crazy and stupid, i like fish the way they naturally are.

And yes theres no reason why you can't get a full refund.
