It's True about Schooling fish!

I had 4 White Cloud Mountain Minnows in a ten gallon tank. They were always timid and hiding. I thought they were pretty boring. Then I read about how schooling fish need to be kept in groups of no less than 6 so I went to the lfs and got 2 more. Amazing! They don't hide anymore and they just seem so much happier and active. I am thinking about getting maybe 2 more!

Hmmmmm i got 4 white cloud mountain minnows too but they seem really sluggish, stay at the top of the tank. My neons are more active than they are!!!! maybe they are getting old.

Maybe i should get 2 more and see what happens.

hmmm....im thinking i should get 6 tetras to keep my betta company...

it really is true, amazing isn't it? I had two clown loaches, one was very grumpy so I added one more.... still grumpy...added 3 more and now they're all as happy as they can be

tetras and a betta won't work well , trust me your betta would rather be alone

I have 12 neons that school together all the time. Their fun to watch

i tried to get my rasboras to school by adding more i had 15 but am down to 11 due to death and being lunch...they still dont school very well but are still pretty cool to watch

i had 10 neons......i think im down to 8 now tho.....but theres only ever 6 together

2 wonder off.....they must find a warmer spot or somewhere where the food collects hahaha

Yea, I agree. The more the better for schooling fish. If you have a tank big enough, get as many as possible and you will see a huge difference in personality.

Even with Tiger Barbs. They are mean and nippy to other fish unless kept with around 8 or so. Then they ignore everyone else and mess with each other.

i have 5 white clouds and they all stick to the bottom of the tank. is this wierd? they would rather the food come to them than swimming to the top of the tank to get it.Why??? everyone else has white clouds that stick to the top of the tank. is this because i dont have any other fish in with them apart from the catfish? BTW yay to you nene
