It's a different world we live in...

these were in a plain white box, not marked live fish, heat pack was ice cold, as was the water

A couple of the Blueberry snails may be alive yet ( hard to tell, but I think I'm seeing movement ) so those will go into a dish pan at home, and if they are moving, will go into the Nano tank, with the other group... I'm just tossing the other fish... I've not heard anything from the seller yet, despite the picture of the water at 38 degrees and basically an email saying the same as my post above, after I received them...other than the auto reply, that my order has been delivered... assuming they are in discussions with UPS???

Do you have the same thing in the US that we have here - shippers that refuse packages that say live fish on them, but accept packages with live fish listed in the contents/waybill?

@GaryE ...

I'm not sure... I have gotten boxes that said live fish on them before, but I honestly didn't notice if they all came from one shipper... so perhaps if even one shipper, refuses them, a shipper wouldn't stock that box...

my last box from Dan's took just 20 hours total, to get here... this one spent 20 hours, just sitting in Minneapolis

I had one shipper explicitly tell me that he no longer put a sign on the shipping box stating “live fish”. He said many UPS and Fed Ex drivers purposely mishandle said labeled boxes. Hard to believe.

I wouldn't even be attempting to order fish with the current weather. Just wait till spring.
Agreed. And other suppliers are acting responsibly and not shipping at all during the polar vortex. Wetspot has a notice on their home page not only that they will not ship but also that they will not process orders that are placed nor will they allow orders to put fish on hold for some future delivery date. They will reevaluate on 1/24.

@Magnum Man You must have placed your order just before Dan's Fish did the same as above announcing a 2 week delay on any shipments due to weather.

I'm receiving a full refund... the Bloody Mary Hillstream's were also a bucket list fish, and of course they are out of them again... I responded that I wasn't mad at them, but the shipping industry is not reliable right now, and I probably won't lace an order until spring... which is really going to restrict the fish available to me... good thing most of my tanks are pretty full...
