You need a picture on the back of the tank to make the fish feel more comfortable.

I would move the filter to the centre of the tank so there is less water splash on the end of the light unit.

Get some Ambulia or Hygrophila polysperma to grow along the back and sides of the tank. And some Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides/ cornuta) to grow on the surface. If the Water Sprite grows too fast, you can plant it in the substrate where it grows into a nice light green shrub.

Make sure the rainbows get plenty of plant matter in their diet. You can use vege flakes/ pellets, Duckweed (floating plant), or marine algae.

I actually am not having a problem with water getting on the light from the filter. It would be really bad because the water here is really hard. The problem I have with water getting on the light is from the air stones so I moved them to the center and it still gives me problems so I just turned them off. Right now I’m feeding omega one flakes, I will look into some of the other items you mentioned. Thanks for the plant suggestions I will get those for sure. I haven’t stocked plants recently because of the ich and my temps were so high, just one thing at a time for me lol. Also I just spent a lot on fish and plants so letting my wallet recover for a bit. A problem I’m having now is algae... it’s blooming out of control. I scraped it off with an algae brush and did a big water change and it came right back.
