Ok. Suppose you could keep the last fella singly, but next time get a big group!

No it wouldn't.
With hindsight, I should never hsve gotten them.
We have some 1.5'' ones for £10 each.
Because they're so endangered, suppliers can charge what they like for them to a certain extent, especially outside/inside of breeding season. Hence the varying prices.
They are lovely fish though, especially when they start colouring up
