Is this a peacock cichlid? Male or female fish?

I attached pics. I have 5 peacocks in a 10 gal quarantine tank. Just purchased them a week ago. This one in the pic is going after the others and I’m not dealing with nipped fins and rot. I just did a big water change and added salt, mela fix and Pima fix hoping for the best. Is this a peacock or another type of more aggressive cichlid?

is there a chance you can turn the white light on for just a second? he does look like one, when i had a school of chiclids, one of them was dominant and hides in the heated rock... he dosent let anyone near or he will chase.

Unfortunately that is the bright light. The blue lights stay on too and in pics it looks weird. I tried adjusting my camera brightness. Hopefully better pics.

The last pic on the one with frayed fins. Is that starting to rot?

yeah it does look a little rotty... looks like peacock. i am not sure how to treat, not a doctor on chiclids
my guesses are salt

Thanks. I did add salt. I’m wondering if I need to move them to main tank (75gal) sooner. That the small tank and stressing out the fish with the rot. That one is one of my favorites I bought. He’s this beautiful dark blue color.

yeah, it may be too small and they want big territory. if it is empty and there are no signs of disease it should be fine. that way they wont chase each other that much because they have adequate territory. what hardness is your tank? if its hard it is good

They'll definitely need more space, that rot came from nipping. It's super hard to sex cichlids when they are young, so I'd put them in the main tank asap and let them color up, then re-post. Good luck!

So the 75 gal has 6 peacocks already in there. That’s why I was quarantining the new fish. To prevent disease to the ones I already have establish. I’ve had those 6 for couple weeks. I might to just get the aggressive one in the big tank. So I can let the fish heal.

Ugh and now I just noticed one has clear stringy poop! I thought it was one of my hairs in the tank but it was coming from the belly on one. And he didn’t eat while I was feeding just now.

No. That is an internal bacterial or protozoan infection.

hmm, my fish livebearers get white poop when not eating enough and when pregnant, but you said livebearers are riddled with worms
