Is this a peacock cichlid? Male or female fish?

No. That is an internal bacterial or protozoan infection.

See following link for info about stringy white poop in fish.
Okay well I added general cure to the QT tank. I moved the bully to the main tank last night and the dominant male in that tank was chasing him like crazy. And this morning he’s hiding in a ground plant and all nipped up. :/

The one with stringy poop wouldn’t eat again today. I got these frozen omega one cichlid cubes and he seemed interested but never eats. He just does this weird thing with his mouth like extending his lips far out and making an “O” with his mouth. It’s weird. He finally nibbled on the remaining crumbs of the cube but would spit it out and then take it back in and spit it out again. But at least he put something in his mouth finally.

The one that had fin rot looks much better today and has been eating everything. His belly is actually huge so now I worry if he has a parasite or if he’s just full.

I got these fish from a private owned store. I wish I just stuck with my local petsmart which I always have good luck with. I never even quarantine new fish. But I was nervous since I never ever dealt with this store and bought so many at one time that I did and it’s been nothing but a disaster since they got home.

Yeah I’ve had a lot of learning over the years. But I never had a sick fish right from day one of getting it home. These fish have been a handful. They better survive all this crap

hmm, my fish livebearers get white poop when not eating enough and when pregnant, but you said livebearers are riddled with worms

Colin can I feed the fish during the Ned application time? The guy with stringy poop had a little more today. It hasn’t been a full 24 hour on meds yet. The one that looked bloated did a huge normal poop and now looks normal again so must have been he was just eating too much.
