I'm wondering if I can treat my tank with aquarium salt. But, I've also heard that aquarium salt isn't good for gouramis. Is that true or can I go ahead and use aquarium salt with everyone in my tank?

no because gouramis are a freshwater fish not a salt or brackish water fish it wouldint like to have any salt in its tank

Wait, isnt there a difference in dosage for Brackish and just standard aqaurium salt treatment? Besides, isnt there salt in the rain? Next time it rain's, stick your tongue out and taste it. Tastes like Slaty water, right?

Why do you need to treat? If this is simply for medicinal purposes (e.g. to cure ich), then it's fine for most gouramies. Obviously, if you intend to turn your tank brackish, you must not include the gouramies - you also shouldn't really use aquarium salt as it does not contain all the minerals found in sea salt and also won't act to buffer pH!

yeah its for medicinal purposes... i just wanted to dispel the rumor about gouramis reacting badly to a little salt for treatment.
