Indian leaf fern

Hi I have Indian leaf fern growing on the surface of the tank. It has lots of roots coming down. Can I trim the roots?

Plants need roots, so it will depend on how far you intend to trim them.

Maybe 1/2 - 3/4 off the roots. The roots might keep growing and be annoying for the fish

If this is a very large plant, remove it and just leave some of the plantlets to keep growing.

Is the plant producing plantlets? Do you need to separate them from the big plant?

Tbh I haven't done anything with Indian leaf fern. I moved it once yesterday. I have just let it float on the top of the surface and let it grow. But I did a water change today and moved it around a bit. I bought 5 plants from trademe.

Has the big plant got little plants attached to it?
